The center is led by Zhuang Songlin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Relying on the construction of the national key (cultivation) disciplines of optical engineering at Shanghai University of Technology, it has received continuous support from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Shanghai Municipal Government. It is the first university scientific and technological achievements industrialization project implemented in the Zhangjiang National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone.
